After many years of research, Dr Mohammad Akram Nadwi's 43-volume Arabic compendium of female hadith scholars has been published and is now available. The compendium contains the biographies of approximately ten thousand women who worked in the field of Hadith, both as teachers and transmitters, from the time of the Prophet Muhammad until the present day. This history is uncovered through painstaking analysis of books and documents such as biographical dictionaries, class registers, ijazahs, and the glowing testimonies from the most revered 'ulema about their female teachers.
